Using textures to fill space

As part of my study of spaces and how we interact with the space through our senses, I began to consider the different textures and how they can trick us into thinking that an area is smaller than it actually is.
I did this mostly through experimenting with different textured paper, PVA glue, liquid latex and melting acetates to create different finishes on the samples.

Thin paper glued into sketchbook and covered with a thin layer of liquid latex.

Melted and distorted acetate with the edges smeared onto a page into sketchbook

Pva glue and tissue paper layered, with a thin layer of white paint added over to add some depth to the creases.

Same as above, but instead of white paint, black spray paint was used to create a different effect.
